Welding Course Syllabus         

-Course Title- Welding

-Instructor - Cameron Burdine

Conference Hours- 8:16am til 9:06am

The students in welding will cover and learn :  
     a. General, shop, eye, equipment and shop safety
    b. Hand Tools
    c. Hand power tools
    d. Occupational opportunities in the shop and industry
    e. Oxygen and Acetelyne Torch cutting, heating, welding and brazing
    f. Shielded Metal Arc Welding Process (SMAW)
     g. Gas Metal Arc Process (GMAW)
    h. Gas Tungsten Arc Welding ( GTAW)
  
        The student during these lessons will have detailed instructions using modern technology, tools and information to accomplish these lessons accurately and safely. The student will study and practice basic welding principles involving the oxy/acetylene welding and either gas metal arc welding or gas tungsten are welding in a flat, horizontal and vertical postions.  Safety and health awareness along with amployability skills needed for success in the welding industry will be taught.  Basic units of measurements will be coveredand students will be introduced to blueprint reading.  This course will serve as an introduction to the welding field and additional courses will be necessary for students to become proficient in  preparation for entry level welding in Industry.   

Textbooks- Modern Welding

Required Student Material-  Long sleeve 100% cotton shirt, old pair of pants and old pair of boots. The student                                                       should also have one spiral notebook.
