     Classroom Expectations: Attitude and Effort are two things you can control.
 1) Be respectful and  display appropriate behavior.
 2) Be positive and prepared.
 3) Follow directions and participate in class activities.
4) Complete assignments on time and to the best of your ability
 5) Cell phones/electronic devices are to be used only with specific teacher permission.  
 6) No food is allowed in class - water is acceptable.
 7) Follow the Student Code of Conduct.

      Consequences for Behavior Issues:
  • Warning or student conference   2  Phone call or email home     3 Office Referral (immediate consequence for certain behaviors outlined in the CHS Student Code of Conduct as as advised by the teacher - ex:  cell phone use)
     Organization: Students will maintain a sequentially organized Spanish notebook.  Students  are responsible for all warmups, notes, and assignments whether present or absent.  

      Supplies:  a 1" -  1.5” binder to remain in the classroom
                       pen/pencil/paper
                        yellow and pink highlighters
                        markers/crayons/map pencils - whatever you prefer to use to color

Grading/Evaluation Policy:  Your grade for the class will consist of the following activities:
Warm-ups/journals
In class work/participation
Vocabulary activities/quizzes
Written papers
Assessments (tests, binder, projects)

Grading Percentages:
 Major Grades (Exams, Projects, Papers) – 70%
 Minor Grades (Homework, Quizzes, In-class work, etc) – 30%
 Final EOC Semester Exam – 20% of final grade

 *No late work will be accepted unless the teacher  for some reason feels there should be additional time for the class to finish (ex: fire  drill, testing, etc.)  If you cannot complete an         assignment on time, please come see me ahead of the due date for special arrangements.
 *Students participating in extracurricular activities should be aware of assignments and due dates before leaving for their activity.  They  are responsible for any and all missed work.
 *Students will have at least 3 major grades each 9 weeks.
*Semester exams are a cumulative assessment, and the previous notes and assignments are essential for exam preparation.
     
     * Retake policy:  Students may retake two tests per 9 weeks for full credit.

    *Absences and Make-up Work:  Absences do affect school performance, as well as exemption eligibility for semester exams. If an absence is unavoidable, make-up work is           
      ultimately the student’s responsibility. Detailed instructions are in your CISD student handbook and have been explained in class.

    *Extra Credit:  There is NO extra credit offered.  Students are given multiple opportunities to maintain their grades through daily work, quizzes, test, projects, and activities in class.    

 Bathroom Policy: Please go to the bathroom before coming to class.  No bathroom permission will be given during the first or last 10 minutes of the class period.  

 Curriculum Content & Tutoring:   If at any time you do not understand a concept being taught or you are having difficulty with the classwork, please see me immediately. Please notify me to make an appointment for tutoring at 6:45 in the a.m. if you need to come in early or or immediately after school, depending on school activities.  You can email me at any time with questions.
