Course Descriprion:

Interior Design is a technical course that addresses psychological, physiological, and sociological needs of individuals by enhancing the environments in which they live and work.  Individuals use knowledge and skills related to interior and exterior environments, construction, and furnishings to make wise consumer decisions, increase productivity, and complete in industry.

Course Description:

Careers in fashion Design span all aspects of the textile and apparel industries.  Within this context, in addition to developing technical knowledge and skills needed for success in the Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications career cluster, students will be expected to develop an understanding of fashion and the textile and apparel industries.

Fashion Design Supply List:

Hand sewn pillows - no supplies needed

Pillowcase - Main fabric - 3/4 yd of cotton fabric
Narrow trim - 1/8 yd of cotton fabric
Hem fabric - 1/3 yd of cotton fabric
Thread to match - cotton/polyester

Alphabet pillow - 1/2 yd fleece fabric
Thread to match - cotton/polyester
Bag of polyfil

Patchwork pillow - 1/3 yd cotton fabric and
1/3 yd of another coordinating fabric

PJ Pants - 3 yds cotton fabric (no silky or stretchy)
Thread to match - cotton/polyester
1 yd 3/4 in wide elastic

Zipper Bag
9" zipper
1/3 yd quilted fabric
Thread to match - cotton/polyester

Final Garment
Thread - cotton/polyester

For Fun if time allows:

Stuffed Animal

*There is no fee for this course.  Students are required to purchase all sewing supplies. Due dates will be given in ample time to purchase supplies.
