8222014_91238_9.jpgWelcome to Sra. Vogel's Spanish Classes!

Spanish II / Spanish II G
                                                Conference: 7:20 - 8:05 Room 160
                                                email: vvogel@conroeisd.net
Tutoring: By Appointment/ Almost every afternoon
                                                School phone: 936-709-5700
Syllabus/ Dates are located on the side bar at the bottom left of this page. The first date is the start date, the second date is the test date. The dates are all tentative. In a foreign language, may need more time on some concepts. If changes are needed will update accordingly. In class, on board, the weekly assignments and concepts to be covered are posted there as well.
spiral/notebook (something to keep papers in),pen/pencil required (Map pencils would be great!)
Grades: 70% Test, 30 % all other (quiz, daily practice, warm ups)
                - On Fridays, all papers completed during the week are collected. For example:  Students turn in a stapled packet. I may count all 5 as a daily grade, or I may take only 3 of the 5 for a grade. I strongly encourage the kids to have a folder/binder that will keep weekly work safe until it is turned in. If a student is absent, there is a designated box for make up work needed.
Websites that may help:
Realidades.com (We are Spanish II, the purple/blueish book.) you will find the chapter vocab., practice with vocab. and concepts covered.
Conjuguemos.com (Able to practice verb conjugation and many other Spanish concepts in game form.)
Studyspanish.com (Can go to the left side bar. Each concept has a tutorial, then a free practice quiz.)
Ways to study Spanish: Flash cards are great!!! Kids can flash themselves or with friends and family.
Study in chunks!!! Don't try and "cram" it all in the day before the test.
Study in a quiet place. Study with friends/family.
Try to look over notes every day! Before school, during down time during the school day.
Late work policy: No late work accepted unless teacher sees a need for extra time. (Assignments are given with days to complete. Most are given at beginning of the week and not due until Friday.  Most are completed in class with Teacher guidance. If a student is absent, there is a designated box for make up work needed.)
Retest policy: Students may retake one test per 9 weeks if grade is below an 85. The highest grade the student can then make is an 85.
Electronics: Please keep phones put away unless given permission to use. We only have students a short time each day for Spanish. If the child is on the phone, valuable instruction time is lost!
